Despite all the myths and fears out there, snakes actually make phenomenal pets are the vast majority are simple to care for and can live very long and hardy lives. Pythons, Boas, and Colubrids make up the majority of the species and there are seemingly infinite variations in size, color, pattern, and temperament between them. We generally recommend Ball Pythons and Corn Snakes as our top 2 species for beginners.
