Reptile Ownership & Care Agreement

By proceeding with a purchase on this website, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

1. Responsibility & Legal Compliance

I understand that by purchasing or acquiring an animal from this website, I am accepting full responsibility for its care and well-being. I confirm that:

  • I will humanely keep this animal using proper husbandry practices.
  • I have researched applicable city, county, state, and federal laws and, to the best of my knowledge, I will not be violating any laws by purchasing, transporting, or keeping this animal.
  • I will never intentionally release this animal, including into the wild or any non-contained environment.

2. Knowledge of Species Requirements

I confirm that I have researched this species and that I am knowledgeable about, and competent in, the following:

  • How large this animal may grow;
  • How long this animal may live;
  • The cost of proper caging and housing for this animal;
  • The enclosure size required for an adult of this species;
  • Potential veterinary costs for this animal;
  • Ongoing feeding costs for this animal;
  • The cost of husbandry equipment needed to humanely keep this animal;
  • The typical temperament and demeanor of this species;
  • How to properly handle this animal both privately and publicly;
  • City, county, state, and federal laws regarding the ownership and transport of this species.

I will strive to provide the best possible care for this animal. I consider myself a responsible keeper, confident in my knowledge of this species and in what is required for the animal to remain healthy and secure.

3. Housing, Care, and Rehoming

I confirm that I have adequate housing, resources, and equipment to properly care for the reptile being purchased or acquired. I agree that:

  • I will comply with all applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations regarding the ownership, keeping, and transportation of this animal in any area where I currently live or may live in the future.
  • The animal will be housed responsibly in reptile-appropriate caging, made of materials that securely and effectively contain the animal.
  • If, at any time, I am no longer able to adequately care for the animal, I will act in the best interest of the animal’s safety and well-being, including arranging for an appropriate and responsible new home.
  • Under no circumstances will the animal be released from human care into the wild.

4. Release of Liability

By purchasing or acquiring an animal from this website:

  • I agree to hold the seller, Jungle Bob’s Reptile World, and any of its employees or representatives harmless and free from any liability arising from the ownership, care, handling, or transport of the purchased/acquired animal.
  • I agree to always engage in and promote responsible reptile ownership.
